Cooking without a Recipe 2
Last Saturday was Zend's birthday and I cooked up some stuff for him to celebrate along with the gift i gave with it...
so i wanna share the so called recipes that i came up just by testing on the spot (really) LOL
they turned out great xD
some i learn from mom and did some twist to it XD
so these recipes are for 2 servings.
Garlic Mashed Potato
ingredients:
-3 potatoes
-a glass of milk
-1 garlic clove
-1/4 butter block
how to cook:
- steam/boil the potatoes till they are soft.
- after boil sets them in large bowl.
- chop the garlic clove to dices.
- heat up a soup pan in low heat, add the butter and garlic dices.
- wait till can smell the garlic but don't burn the butter.
- add the milk in standard heat.
- wait 5-6 min.
- pour on the potatoes
- mash them together. DONE.
extra:
- can add chopped spring onion together with the butter and garlic dices to add color.
Apple Cinnamon Crisp
ingredients:
-2 green apples
-1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
-1 teaspoon of honey
-3 tablespoon of flour
-3 tablespoon of oatmeal
-2 tablespoon of sugar/brown sugar
-1/4 butter block
how to cook:
- peel of the apples skin and cut them.
- arrange them on a baking pan.
- add cinnamon and honey, then mix them well.
- whisk the flour in a bowl then add the oatmeal, butter and sugar.
- mix them lightly, then spread them evenly in the baking pan.
- bake the crisp for 30 min 100c. DONE
extra:
- Serve it warm with vanilla ice-cream :D
Mushroom Beef Hamburgers with gravy
ingredients:
- 1 pack of minced meat
- mixed herbs
- 1 onion
- black pepper
- salt
- handful of mushrooms (button etc)
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 teaspoon of flour
- 1/4 butter block
- olive oil
how to cook:
- tear the minced meat in a bowl.
- chop the onion and mushrooms to dices.
- add 3/4 of the onions and mushrooms into the bowl.
- add some salt, black pepper and mixed herbs into the bowl.
- mix them well. Shape them into 2 large burgers. Let them rest in the fridge for a while.
- heat the frying pan and add a lil of olive oil.
- put the hamburgers on the pan. let the heat on low to slow cooking.
- let each sides get brown then close with lid.
- wait for 15 min then take them out on a plate.
- for the gravy, keep the juices from the hamburgers in the pan.
- on low heat, add butter, leftover onion and mushrooms dices in the pan.
- stir them up till it gives off aroma, then add the milk.
- scrape the fat and meat juices from the pan.
- add the flour and stir it. wait 10 min then pour on the hamburgers. DONE
Honey Lemon Salad
ingredients:
- cauliflower
- broccoli
- 1/2 carrot
- 1 tomato
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- 1/4 lemon
- olive oil
- 1 teaspoon mayonnaise
how to cook:
- chop bite size of cauliflower and broccoli for 2 people serving.
- steam/boil them. then take them out and let them rest for a while in a bowl.
- slices the tomatoes and add them into the bowl.
- use a peeler to make carrot strips and add them into the bowl.
- add the mayonnaise, honey, olive oil and lemon juice into the bowl.
- mix them well. then put them into the fridge to cool. DONE
