Also know as House of Small Cubes or Tsumiki no Ie,
A friend link me up to this short movie in Youtube
and I did some research on it after I had viewed it.
La Maison en Petits Cubes won alot of awards under Best Animated Short Film category
This was the first Academy Award nomination and win for Kunio Katō.
Katō's 12-minute work uses paper drawings and 2D computer graphics
to tell the story of a grandfather's memories as he adds more blocks
to his house to stem the flooding waters.
The story had teared me up but some people might find it quite boring.
The production company was by Robot Communications, Inc.
It is the second Japanese animated work to win a major Oscar since Spirit Away.
At first I didnt even realize it was made by Japanese,
The characters and illustration designs are very influenced by western style.
I love these sort of illustration and trying to change my strong influences toward the manga/anime style.

All I can say is this short movie was beautifully done!
